Step 3. Coach Onboarding - Making Sense of the Coach's Dashboard

See what matters and ignore the noise

Updated this week

Now that your athletes are connected and your Teams are organised, it is time to learn how to read the Dashboard.

This is the quickest way to understand how your squad is coping before any session begins.

Start with the Table

Go to Dashboard and collapse the view down to smaller teams for easy viewing.

The dashboard shows all athletes in one place and uses a traffic light system to help you see who needs attention.

These colours update automatically based on Alerts so you can spot issues in seconds.

Key Metrics Explained

PeakScore

Shows how ready the athlete is to train today.

• Less than 60: modify the session and prioritise recovery

• 60 to 80: monitor the session and reduce intensity if the athlete is struggling but continue if all is ok

• 80 to 100: excellent readiness and prepared to train with intent

• Greater than 100: exceptional readiness and a PB may be possible

Wellness Score

Shows how the athlete is feeling compared to their normal.

• Less than 60: Modify the session and shift the focus to recovery to less intensity

• 60 to 75: Monitor the session and ask the athlete how they are feeling

• Greater than 75: All going well, continue as planned

Soreness

Shows how the athlete’s body is tolerating the mechanical demands of training.

Training Load

Shows the physical stress from each session based on time multiplied by muscular effort and respiratory effort. Each score is individual to them.

Workload Factor

Shows whether the athlete is training above, below or in line with their usual workload.

• Less than 0.75 Risk of overtraining

• 0.75 to 0.9 Training harder than normal, monitor recovery signs

• 0.9 to 1.1 The sweet spot for balanced and effective load

• 1.1 to 1.25 Relative under-training or tapering

• Greater than 1.25 Risk of under-training

Five key columns to focus on

• PEAK Score

• Wellness Score

• Work Factor

• Soreness

• Flag

Sorting these columns by clicking on the title, helps you see patterns quickly.

  • Sort by lowest PEAK Score to identify who may not be ready to push.

  • Sort by lowest Wellness Score to catch early signs of stress or poor recovery.

  • Sort by highest Work Factor to see who has had the biggest increase in load.

  • Sort by highest Soreness to identify athletes who may need adjustments or recovery.

Under the main dashboard table you will find 28 day charts for your team. These show the rolling two day averages for the last 28 days for Training Load, Peak Score, Wellness and Workload Factor across the entire training group. This allows you to see how each member of the squad is responding to the same training block.

It helps you identify who is adapting well, who is not coping and who may need individualised adjustments or extra recovery. It is one of the simplest ways to keep the program aligned while still treating each athlete as an individual.

What to look for each day

• Athletes with low PEAK or Wellness Scores several days in a row

• Athletes with High Workload Factor scores several days in a row

• Sudden spikes in Training Load

• Increases in Soreness that do not match the training plan

• Athletes who have stopped logging

These are flags that may need a conversation, a modified session or a lighter training day. Use the direct messaging function to start the conversation. The Peak communications centre keep your entire communication history in one spot.

Understanding the dashboard table is the foundation of effective monitoring.
