Step 5. Coach Onboarding - How to read "Trends and Insights" to guide your coaching

Turn patterns into better decisions and better conversations

Updated this week

Once you understand the Individual Athlete Profile graph, the next step is reviewing trends across weeks and blocks. These can be found by selecting the individual under “My Athletes” and clicking on “Trends and Insights”.

Why Trends matter

A low Peak score (readiness) day is common but a pattern of low days requires investigation. Trends show how an athlete is adapting, not just how they felt today.

This is where your coaching is supported by data and context. Look at the direction of change, how consistent it is and what was happening in training at the time?

Metric Changes

The Trends table quantifies how the athlete has changed over the last 7 days, 28 days and 12 weeks across PEAK Score, Wellness, Work Factor, Work Load, Soreness and HLR.

The score you see reflects how much has changed compared to the previous same time period (eg. the last 28 days vs the 28 days prior to that). It gives you a fast view of short, medium and long term adaptation so you can see who is flourishing, who is holding steady or and who is trending toward risk.

Ask the questions that matter

• Did higher loads equate with better or worse readiness?

• Did niggles cluster in certain weeks?

• Which weeks matched their best readiness or performances and why?

Use 'Wellness Averages' to check in with the athlete based on their data

• How has this week felt?

• Is anything affecting sleep or recovery?

Communication

You can comment directly on the athlete’s logs to guide them, check in or provide feedback. Use direct messaging through the inbox tab and it will automatically keep a record of all conversations..

The real value

Trends and Insights help you adjust training, schedule recovery and identify risk early.
