Garmin connections are coming back

We've got some good news on your Garmin connection.

Garmin just approved us to connect directly to the Garmin API, so we can restore device connections.

What we've done:

  • Our dev team is already building the new connection on the back end.

  • We expect it to be ready by the end of the week, and we'll let you know as soon as it's live.

What this means for you:

Connecting directly to Garmin, rather than through a third party, should bring a few improvements:

  • Faster updates: near-real-time data after each sync.

  • More detailed activity data: full activity files, not just summaries.

  • More Garmin metrics: a wider range of health, activity and training data.

  • A more reliable connection: fewer sync issues.

  • Quicker support for new devices: new Garmin models supported sooner.

What you need to do:

  • You don't need to do anything yet.

  • Once the integration is live, we'll send you simple steps to reconnect.

Thanks for your patience while we sorted this out. If you have any questions, just reply to this email.

Update 28/09/2026

Last week, Tori has applied to connect directly to the Garmin API (instead of via Terra), we await the outcome of this. We are also exploring other options such as direct Strava API (also instead of Terra) to restore connections. Thank you again for your patience while we continue to work towards a solution.

Update 23/09/2026

An update on Garmin Connections

We wanted to give you a heads-up about an issue affecting your Garmin connection.

What's happening:

- Garmin has blocked Terra, the third-party service we use to sync your Garmin data.

- This affects your connection immediately, so your Garmin data is no longer syncing to your account.

What we've done:

- We've been in direct contact with Terra, who have reached out to Garmin repeatedly to resolve this.

- We've also raised the issue with Garmin directly and emailed the CEO to push for a resolution.

Where things stand:

- Garmin has responded, and we are currently navigating how to re-establish a direct connection.

- This requires us to change how we handle Garmin data specifically for insights generated by AI.

- We can't guarantee when, or whether, the connection will be restored.

What happens now?

- In the meantime, you can keep logging your training sessions and health data manually in the app so you don't lose track of your progress.

- Your existing data and account settings are safe and unaffected.

We'll keep you updated as soon as we know more, whichever way this goes.

We believe data should be open to use for the athlete that produces it. So we will be doing what we can to re-establish a connection.

Please feel free to contact support in app via Help & Support or email [email protected] should you have any questions.

Thanks for bearing with us,

Tori
